Summary

The Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm Trust is committed to empowering members of the community and improving the lives of community members, within the areas they operate. The Tsitsikamma Community Wind Energy Facility (TCWF) is located within the Tsitsikamma area, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The Project consists of 31 wind turbines, owned by the Tsitsikamma Development Trust (TDT), which can provide clean renewable electrical energy to over 96 000 average South African households.

Funding details

The bursary will provide full cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, prescribed study material, accommodation and a monthly living stipend. Students will also have access to a mentor throughout the duration of the academic years. Bursaries are granted for 1 academic year, and students should reapply each year for funding. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must be Black, as defined by the DTI codes of good practiceYou must permanently reside within a 50km radius of the Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm, within AmaMfengu, Koukamma or Kouga communities, in the Eastern Cape province:Kouga: Centerton, Jeffrey’s Bay (township), Humansdorp, Noorshoek, Oyster Bay, Pellrus, Rosedale, St Francis Bay (township) and WestertonKoukamma: Clarkson, Kagiso Heights, Kareedouw (township), Katank, New Rest, Nompumelelo, Sanddrif, Thornham, Uitkyk and WoodlandsAmaMfengu: Wittekleibosch, Snyklip, Ekuphumleni, Nuweplaas and Doriskraal You must be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above (preference will be given to Engineering students) You must be accepted or provisionally accepted to study at a public University or TVET College in South Africa You must have a total household income must NOT be more than R350 000 per annum You must have passed at least 75% of your 2025 academic year modules, if a current bursary recipient
