Summary

The Multichoice Talent Factory academies were launched in October 2018. Every year, 60 candidates are selected from 13 different countries, to partake in a year-long programme that engages in academic and practical components. The programme consists of theory and hands-on experience within the film industry, exploring avenues such as editing, cinematography, storytelling and audio production. A one year, fully sponsored programme is also offered through various regional MTF academies in countries such as Kenya, Zambia and Nigeria. These programmes are made possible by partnerships with various reputable tertiary institutions.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must have completed MatricYou must have completed a 3 year Diploma or Degree in Film/ TV or a related qualification (Drama, Acting, Journalism etc)You must have completed your qualification within the last 2 years (in 2022 or 2023)You must have received a minimum overall aggregate of a C+You must NOT have participated in the 2023 Academy interns programme
