The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA) is one of the 21 SETA’s of the South African government, which focus on providing skills development and training to people employed or seeking employment in their sectors. The Bankseta’s mission is to support transformation and people development and through partnerships, to enable stakeholders to advance the national and global position of the broader banking and microfinance sector.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African CitizenYou must be under 35 years old on 1 February 2024You must be currently unemployed and NOT have any pending employment offersYou must have completed a 3 year tertiary qualification by November 2022 and have graduatedYou must have completed one of the following 3 year tertiary qualifications: Bachelor of IT: Business Systems Information Technology, Information Systems, Informatics, National Diploma in Business Applications, National Diploma in IT (specialising in Business Analysis), Diploma in Business Information TechnologyYou must NOT be currently registered as a student (part or full-time) at a tertiary institutionYou must NOT be studying intend on studying from February 2024 to January 2025You must have a clear criminal record and NOT have any pending criminal recordYou must have a clear credit recordYou must have strong English communication skills – written and verbalYou must be committed to attending all the required training sessions and be able to completed the learnership within the given timeYou must be able to have full attendance at work – including work on a SaturdayYou must NOT have participated in any previous LearnershipsCandidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply
