The University of the Free State (UFS) is one of the oldest and most reputable South African tertiary institutions. It opened its doors in 1904 and was then known as Grey University. Today, this institution consists of many campuses with two diverse ones in Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa, housing more than 40 000 students in seven faculties. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You may be a South African citizen or an International studentYou must have completed MatricYou must have completed an undergraduate degree (at any institution)You must have achieved a minimum average of 65% for your undergraduate studiesYou must have completed an undergraduate degree in the minimum prescribed periodYou must be intend on studying on a full-time, towards a first Postgraduate Diploma at the University of the Free State in 2023You must demonstrate strong academic abilityYou must NOT be pursuing an undergraduate degree (regardless of the programme for which you are enrolled)You must NOT intend on studying towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)You must NOT be employedYou must NOT be receiving any government bursary/ scholarship awardYou must NOT be receiving the UFS Staff Study Benefit/ Remission on your tuition feesYou must NOT already hold a Postgraduate Diploma, Honours or B Tech DegreeYou must NOT be registered for your second year of a Postgraduate DiplomaYou must NOT have received funding from the Postgraduate School in the previous years
