Summary

The University of the Free State (UFS) is one of the oldest and most reputable South African tertiary institutions. It opened its doors in 1904 and was then known as Grey University. Today, this institution consists of many campuses with two diverse ones in Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa, housing more than 40 000 students in seven faculties. Over the years, UFS has seen an increasing amount of international students and associates as well as a growth in community involvement. The University of the Free State (UFS) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the2024 academic year.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):Honours bursary applicants: You must have achieved a minimum final mark average of 70%You must intend on applying for and completing a Master’s degree, after completion of the Honours degreeYou must meet the admission requirements of the Faculty at UFS Masters bursary applicants: You must have achieved a minimum Honours mark of 70%
