Stellenbosch University is a public research university located in Stellenbosch, within the Western Cape province of South Africa. The Graduate School of Economic and Management Sciences (GEM) at Stellenbosch University has been operating since January 2014, and is responsible for full-time residential doctoral programme that is functional across all academic disciplines within the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.​​

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You may be a South African citizen or foreign national (preference will be given to previously disadvantaged South African citizens)You must meet the minimum criteria for admission to a PhD programme at Stellenbosch University (you must have completed a master’s degree in the relevant discipline)You must intend on pursuing a full-time three-year doctoral qualification in the Faculty’s Research ThemesYou must be able to commence your studies at Stellenbosch University on 20 January 2025You must have achieved a minimum result of 70% in your master’s programme
