The George Municipality is a local municipality within the Garden Route District Municipality, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is the third largest municipality in the Western Cape Province, in terms of population. Located between two major cities – Cape Town and Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), George is well known for tourism, lifestyle, business and investment destination.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must permanently reside in George, in the Western Cape provinceYou must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric (in 2023 or 2024) at a school within the George Municipality areaPrevious George Municipality bursary recipients may also applyYou must be studying or intend on studying within a Municipal (local government sector) and related study fieldYou must have a total household income of NOT more than R350 000 per annumPreference will be given to students from designated groups
