The Ruta Sechaba Foundation is inviting students to apply for their scholarship programme,for the 2026 academic year.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must be Black (African, Indian or Coloured), as defined by the B-BBEE ActYou must be currently in Grades 8 to 11You must be an excellent achiever in academics or sportYou must be highly motivatedYou must be determined to succeedYou must be in need of financial assistance, with a gross combined household income of NOT more than R45 000 per monthAcademic Scholarship applicants:you must have achieved a minimum result of 65% for Mathematics, 65% for English and 65% overall average in your latest academic reportSports Scholarship applicants:you must have been awarded national or provincial colours for one or more of the top 20 ranked sporting activities in the country and you must have consistently maintained a minimum academic average of 60%
