Summary
The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit German cultural association operational worldwide with 159 institutes, promoting the study of the German language abroad and encouraging international cultural exchange and relations. Pop-Kultur is an international festival taking place in Berlin, Germany each year. The festival is built around three elements: Live events (music performances, readings and film screenings); Talent program (Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs, which connects young talents from around the world with established artists); and Networking (which brings together key figures in the local and international creative industries in a casual setting).

Funding details
The scholarship will provide cover for the following expenses: participation fee, accommodation, travel expenses, hospitality (per diem), flights and will help with visa appointments. Scholars will also receive the following benefits: Musicboard Berlin will provide a free festival ticket and access to Pop-Kultur’s networking area for professionals to all talents, organise accommodation (breakfast included), cover health insurance and public transportation within Berlin.The opportunity to network, with focus on studio times, which will give the selected participants the opportunity to engage in direct acoustic exchange in order to learn from and with each other.Scholars will also join the Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs programme, from 28 to 30 August in Berlin, where international professionals will give personal insights into their work and share knowledge through workshops, case studies and talks with participants.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be from a DAC country (including African countries, Latin America and particular Asian countries)You must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years oldYou must be a musician, composer, singer-songwriter and/or instrumentalistYou must play any type of muscial instrument (from Oud to Drums) and any musical GenreYou must wish to work professionally in the music field or to make your musical talent more target-orientedYou must wish to share your experiences in playing music in a groupYou must wish to work professionally in the music field and industry and extend your networksYou must have work experience in the field of music, with proof of at least 3 projects you took part inYou must have Advanced English skills (at least a level B2 –find the English levels hereandcomplete the FREE English proficiency test hereYou must read and agree to all theterms of the scholarship
