Funding details

Excel@Uni bursaries will provide the following cover and benefits: full bursary funding (tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, food, and monthly allowances)on-going psycho-social supportmentorship for developing essential skills for personal and professional growthWork Readiness Programmeprivate tutoringassistive stipend based on the nature of your disability, and the support you need in order to complete your studies successfully Bursary recipients are required to work-back for each year of funding received. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 31 July 2025 – if you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful. Candidates may be required to undergo screening, shortlisting, interview, and psychometric assessments.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must be under 35 years of ageYou must be living with a disabilityYou must be studying full-time towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, that is NQF level 7 or higher (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, Masters, etc)You must be studying towards your current qualification level for the first time (you must NOT be repeating a degree, honours, etc)You must be studying at a tertiary institution registered with the DHET/ CHEYou must be on track to finish your qualification in the minimum-time required (not N+1 or higher)You must be in need of funding for the 2025 academic year
