The Centre of Applied Research and Innovation in the Built Environment (CARINBE) is affiliated with the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment (SCEBE), governed by the University of Johannesburg (UJ). The Centre is located within the university’s Doornfontein Campus, within the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. Through this, CARINBE hopes to become a globally recognized “think-tank”, aimed at providing information that is credible to the built environment industry, supported by intense scientific research.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be studying at the University of Johannesburg, at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment or the Faculty of ScienceYou must be studying or intend on studying towards a Masters or PhD qualification, in one of the research topics listed abovePreference will be given to candidates from historically underprivileged and designated groups (in accordance with SANEDI and the University of Johannesburg’s Employment Equity commitment.
