Black Rock Mine Operations (BRMO) is part of the Manganese division of ASSMANG Pty Ltd. BRMO, located in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, is an underground manganese ore mine operations, which mines oxide and semi-carbonate ores. As part of Assmang Limited, a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) and Assore Limited, the Black Rock Mine is recognized for its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and sustainability. With advanced mining technologies and a focus on workforce development, the operation plays a vital role in supporting South Africa’s mining industry and global manganese markets.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizenYou must be between 18 and 35 years oldYou must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric with a Bachelor pass / University exemption in the final examinationsYou must be studying or intend on studying full-time towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above, in 2026You must be studying or have been accepted / provisionally accepted to study at an accredited University or University of Technology in South AfricaYou must have achieved a minimum overall average B-symbol and pass mark for all subjects, including final-year examination results, if currently studyingYou must NOT be receiving any other bursary funding or financial aid from another institutionPreference is given to students from a disadvantaged background in the local communities within the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality and students living with disabilityPreference is given to learners who have University acceptance for the 2026 academic year
