The AIDC-EC Chair of Automotive Engineering at Nelson Mandela University is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, with a focus on multidisciplinary projects. The Chair leads efforts in areas such as advanced automotive technologies and manufacturing production processes. Responsibilities include managing research initiatives, collaborating with industry on new product development, and driving commercialization and knowledge creation. A key objective is to embed engineering, manufacturing, and e-mobility education at all higher education levels in the Eastern Cape. The role also fosters ongoing partnerships with external academic and industrial stakeholders, including international student and staff exchange programs, to facilitate knowledge transfer in Automotive Engineering. The AIDC-EC Automotive Engineering Chair is invting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the2025 academic year.
